Freedom of Speech As Long As You Agree With Me

“Die Gedanken sind frei.”
– “Thoughts are Free,” famous German song about freedom of thought, 1810-1820, author unknown

Shortly after I arrived in the U.S., I realized that the freedom of speech Americans thought they had, was, let’s just say, with no intention of offending anyone, a figment of their naïve imagination.

The Watermelon Patch

Mr. Goodman, a lanky, hardened, coveralls-clad southern gentleman, had magical calloused hands. He could grow the largest and sweetest watermelons for miles and miles. His famous Watermelon Patch opened every summer morning with the day’s harvest. There was a steady streaming line of cars and, they sold very quickly.

Defeating the Nemesis Within

“The Elephant does not have a spine right now.” – Trevor Loudon

Trevor Loudon, on a U.S. tour to promote his new book, “The Enemies Within,” began his speech to a packed crowd in Fairfax, Virginia, with the relevant question, “Why does a New Zealander from Christ Church care about America?”

The bestselling author encapsulated his answer into two reasons. First, it was simple gratitude to Americans, our fathers, brothers, and uncles, who sacrificed to save his country during WW II. Secondly, it was a selfish reason. “If America goes down so does the West.” Loudon echoed other patriotic editors like Judi McLeod, and her online publication, Canada Free Press, “… Because without America there is no Free World.”

Climate Change Deniers, Better Drink the Kool-Aid

“The only way to get our society to truly change is to frighten people with the possibility of a catastrophe.” – Emeritus Professor Daniel Botkin
“Coal makes us sick. Oil makes us sick. It’s global warming. It’s ruining our country. It’s ruining our world. – Harry Reid, U.S. Senate majority leader

Although I’ve had a best-selling book at Amazon since October 2012, “U.N. Agenda 21: Environmental Piracy,” liberals and conservatives alike have called people like me tin-foil hat conspiracy theorist and “agender” simply because I have done my research and have found ample evidence of the existence of U.N. Agenda 21 Sustainable Development documents and related sites, international bodies, conferences, organizations, initiatives, and local zoning initiatives, changes and restrictions. http://sustainabledevelopment.un.org/content/documents/Agenda21.pdf

Free Cheese in a Socialist Mousetrap

“There is always free cheese in a mousetrap.” – Retired Marine Colonel Martino

Public Citizen.org, self-described as “advocates for a healthier and more equitable world,” sent a fundraising letter to Democrat voters, claiming that “millionaires who run the largest corporations on Earth want to slash the social insurance programs the rest of us rely on.” By slashing, they are referring to the logical proposal to increase eligibility age for Medicare, to correlate Medicare to income, and to modernize/privatize it.

Austerity, Sub-Prime Lending, and the Safety of Savings Accounts

“It is hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions by putting those decisions in the hands of people who pay no price for being wrong.” – Thomas Sowell

Austerity has not worked well in the EU if you ask Keynesian economists and supporters; they will tell you that austerity does not work, citing the EU experience. Italy, Greece, Portugal, Spain, and the U.K. governments claimed that austerity measures resulted in stratospheric unemployment rates and slow economic growth.

Are You Thin Enough or Fashionable Enough for a Boutique?

Jennifer purse by Tom Ford at Neiman Marcus, the Swiss $38,100 version is crock leather “Jennifer” purse at Neiman Marcus, the $38,100 Swiss purse was croc leather.

I don’t know exactly what happened to Oprah Winfrey in the Swiss high-end boutique that allegedly refused to let her look at a $38,100 purse because it was expensive and she could not afford it. The saga turned into an accusation of racism from Oprah’s perspective, and a “she said, we said” from the shop owner’s side.

I do know, based on my frequent travels that most Europeans do not engage in acts of racism; they are elitist socialists embracing multiculturalism to the point of self-destruction.

The Confused and Misguided Youth

Dr. Thomas Sowell, Economics professor, economist, writer, and sage, encapsulated brilliantly what ails our youth. “The problem isn’t that Johnny can’t read. The problem isn’t even that Johnny can’t think. The problem is that Johnny doesn’t know what thinking is; he confuses it with feeling.” And the culprits are the American public education, an ever growing lack of religious education, and the indifferent parenting that does not question what children learn or do not learn in school.

Politics and the Scam of Green

“Americans are so enamored of equality, they would rather be equal in slavery than unequal in freedom.”
― Alexis de Tocqueville

It is not hard to find supporters of the scam of green in Virginia, but particularly in northern Virginia. The highways are constantly packed with Priuses, Smart Cars, Fiats, and other tin cans covered in bumper stickers of tree huggers, Agenda 21 supporters, pro-choice baby killers, coexist peaceniks, vegetarians, save Tibet, save Darfur advocates, bike to work, solar power, wind power supporters, and other assorted smug environmentalists with their progressive utopian ideals and causes that the rest of us must adopt lest we kill the earth, the polar bears, and the seals. As Paul Watson, the co-founder of Greenpeace, said, “It doesn’t matter what is true, it only matters what people believe is true.”
